Want to use multiple cameras but cannot view from both cameras.

Hi Sean:

I could not see my forum question. I sent you a video clip of correctly performed sequence and a scene that I want to recreate the same effect. I am able to set up cameras and motion path. However, not able to have see view from camera in both. I can only turn on either camera 1 or camera 2 but not both.  Any idea?

Thanks

A.

thank you, Sean.

I got it working. Apparently I had the key frame tick turned off (drop down menu for "display key ticks" was off). Thank you for suggesting paths. I am enclosing this scene where I want a path to follow through trachea (small structure inside mouth) . You will see that structure as yellow. I would like the camera to follow path inside that trachea (as in endoscopy or flythrough). However, I am not able to establish path using curve tool with options on top (magnet 3 and 4 for holding the path inside the trachea).

Appreciate your suggestion how to create path to follow inside the trachea.

Thanks

A.

Hi @Anonymous

There's no cameras in the scene you attached just the models.

I'm also not allowed to do the work as this isn't really a technical issue. You have the right idea using motion paths and a camera, all you really need to do now is line up the motion path right. It may take some time and iterations to get it perfect but that's how working on anything goes Smiley Tongue

Hi Sean:

I tried several ways to set my camera path go through small vessel. I can never get the path inside the small vessel (tube).  How do I set path inside a tube? I have also tried to click button that allows for tracking along the vessel.

Any idea?

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous

It just depends on how you have the motion trail set up.

You could actually highlight an edge that runs along the inner tube then duplicate it and use that as the motion trail.

Hi!

If you are talking about handling the small object, you could resize it temporarily.

For creating a curve i just used Vertex Snapping and it worked fine.

You can also make the object live for initial curve creation.

Thank you, Sean.

Can you show with screencast how you use these features that you describe? You can do it on a tube.

Thank you,

Anil

Hi @ashettySSLFS

Sure thing. All you need to do is highlight the edges that run along the path you would like then select Modify->Convert Poly Edge to Curve.

Here's a video of me going about this as well!

Thank you, sean:

I like the second easy way you suggested.  I tried to play by creating a tube. I have a couple of questions:  I could only extrude with curve and not a nerb (toroid).  what am I doing wrong?  I like to have just the way you did with some wall thickness.

With curve extruded, and the tube selected, why am I not able to go to face option? When I right click on object, I do not get "surface" and "edge option", rather gives me "surface point" and "isoparam" option. why is that?

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous

You need to create the Torus first. Once you have it scaled and as thick as you would like, create a CV curve along the path you would like to use. Then select half of the faces of the torus and shift select the curve then extrude. Once you've extruded be sure to increase the amount of divisions so it curves properly.

Let me know if you need any more assistance!

Hi sean:

I am really sorry that I still don't get the steps. You may have overlooked some steps or I am not able to follow with what you describe. I am really sorry this is taking so long for me to understand.

If you don't mind steps again in screencast?

thanks

Hi @ashettySSLFS

Ok, I went ahead and made a video of myself breaking down those steps for you and I added the camera and motion trail look!

Please let me know if this video helps or if you need any more assistance!

thank you, Sean.

This is great!  I am able to create tube.  Now that I have a tube, I wanted to replicate the other part that you had in your previous video.  I tried to remove top half of tube so that I can place a new "curve" along the tube.  However, the program does not allow me to place new curve along the tube.

My idea now is to take the vessel that is present and remove top half and place curve for camera path.

any reason?

Thank you,

Hi @Anonymous

Once you have created the tube, if you try and delete the curve it will delete the tube as well so you should duplicate the tube then delete the old tube and curve.

Once that is done, you should be able to follow along with my previous screencast and create a curve from the edge of the tube and then delete the top half of the curve.

If that doesn't help, please feel free to post some screenshots or videos of your issue so I can get a better idea of what's going on and how to explain it for you!

Hi Sean:

Thank you. I was able to create tube and duplicate and open upper half to set up my curve points. I did go to edge and then started placing points with shift and click. When I tried to convert from polygon edges to curve I do not see the curve that should have been crated by connecting those points.

can you go over that last part of placing points again?

thank

Hi @ashettySSLFS

Sure thing. I made another video of using the tube we made and how to make a motion path from the edges of the tube and attach a camera to it.

If I missed anything please let me know and I'll be happy to help you further!
