Maya Rotate tangent problem (Graph Editor)

It's been a year that i have this problem and now I can describe it.

When I keyframe my HIK guy and start to refining animation the tangent go messy. But I can't fix it because the curve that cause this issue (mostly rotate (x,y,z) CAN"T be Edited. it's like a smooth curve and doesn't have a tangent.

I tried everything but no solution. Translate have tangent but not rotates...

What should I do?

Thanks.

under the view menu of the graph editor you can set the tangent view to "always", "never", and "On Active keys"

It's possible that you have "never" toggled

Hi @Anonymous

You can go to Show-> Show All and that should display all the values and let you rotate.

If that doesn't work, have you tried deleting your settings/preferences?

Let me know if anything changes!

Thanks @sean.heasley but the issue is not coming from there.

I tried to key frame a sphare in new window and all the key frames had tangent.(so my maya doesn't have a problem)
Then I imported HIK default Dummy_Char and try to key frame the IK handlers (hand IK) and I found the problem. for any reasons, IK handlers don't have a rotate tangent in Graph editor... IDKW they don't have it but that screwed up everything.

Any help for that?

oh, it's probably because of the rotate curve interpolation

( sorry I didn't recognize the circles as I really dislike the new graph editor, so I use classic)

try changing the interp type of the rotate curves.. this may however bork your animation ..

  1.  select the curves
  2. curves -> change rotation interp -->  independent euler

you should see the keys change from circles to diamonds

It's probably set that way on HIK to deal with how it interprets the rotations when using IK along with rotations ..
