We have another new release with some important updates and oft-requested new features:
- Download bug fix and improved save:
For some non-US users on work networks, the last release v4.012 using the new v2 Rendering engine was having problems accessing the cloud results. This new version 4.031 seems to solve this issue for all customers I've worked with so far. Also we've moved the save of payment status earlier in the process, so you won't lose your paid results. - Daylight Factor (ADF & BREEAM)
After tons of user requests, this release finally includes a formal Daylight Factor analysis type that automates the sky model, thresholds, results display styles, average daylight factor calculation, etc. It's labeled as a beta version, but is fully functional, so we welcome your feedback to perfect it next release for users of ADF, BREEAM, etc. - Phase, PhaseFilter and Design Options support:
Another oft-requested feature is support of Phase and Design Options. Phase issues with Rooms have led to confusion in the past for models with Rooms in multiple Phases, so this version enforces use of Rooms only in the Phase of the InsightLighting Model View (ILMV), and coordinates the other views and results with that Phase. The Phase can be changed for new runs, and the Phase is saved with the run. For Design Options, we now track the DO status of the ILMV for each run, filter Floors and Rooms in non-visible DOs, and notify you of the coordination of views with the run DO when generating results. Unfortunately Revit doesn't allow automatic change of the DO settings, so we can't coordinate views automatically, so notifications are given reminding you of the DOs selected when submitting the run. - Logging and auto-debugging:
Logging has been vastly improved to make it easier for you to figure out issues or for us to figure them out with the help of the log file. Any issues, please send your log files from <mydocs>/Autodesk/RevitDaylighting from the model name folder.
Also if you missed the previous release of v4.012, please see the feature and bug fixes for that announcement:
