Bitmap as browsernode icon loaded with black background

Hi all,

I'm working on a tool where I need custom browser nodes. I made some icons in GIMP and now I'm trying to load them into the browser. It seems that whatever I do the image background becomes black.

I tried with a bunch of different icons, but the same keeps happening. Can this have anything to do with the conversion to IPictureDisp? That would mean the only workaround is to create the icons with the same backcolor as the browser?

Both an icon and a bitmap get the black background.

Hello

Have you tried a magenta background?

EDIT: Magenta background will also not work.

Or use iconfx.portable with transparent backgrounds!

The thing is my bitmap/icons do have transparent background. Either inventor does not support them or the IPictureDisp conversion doesn't.. When I use the same icons in the ribbon the background is transparent!

For now I think I'll go with my backup plan, creating them with the browser pane background color, and switching them according to dark/light mode.

Hello

Have tried it with one of my ICO icon files with transparent background, works as expected. Can you post one of your Icons?

EDIT: If I switch to dark mode, the background of light theme is used.

I get the same thing, except the background is white. interestingly though, if you use the same icon in VBA, it has a transparent background
