Auto file number generation

Does anyone have a simple VBA project file that increments file names with a defined prefix? I am looking for my parts to have the following format: "Mxxxxxx" with the x's representing the next digits. If someone can provide that I would greatly appreciate it.

I have a created a add-in for inventor that does this almost like you want.

The only difficulty is that how to prevent that other users choose the same file-name?

Better solution is to use Vault and configure there what your need is.
