Add drawing number to file name

Hello,

I'm planning to insert part numbers into a file name.

But it has to be done after the project is finished.

I have already a rule that is numbering drawings automatically.

I'm currently looking for a way to add a part number to a file name by an external rule, without losing references to that file in assemblies.

Furthermore, I'm also planning to use Vault Basic, so the filenames should be also changed in Vault.

I will be very grateful for your help.

Since Vault basic API's is not supported for programming this will be no go.
On the local workspace this is possible via programming.
Using Vault professional will allow you to do this directly but also via an add-in which makes it possible to do what you want in one step.
