Sheet metal - parameter setting challenge

I like challenges but it is starting to annoy me a bit. The issue I have is as follows: I want to create a new template using a sheet metal part. I have created a new parameter PL_T. This parameter is set as Thickness and Bend Radius in 'Sheet Metal Defaults' of 'Sheet Metal Rule - Default_mm. This works as long as it is not a template. When it has become a template, the Thickness and Bend Radius does not have my parameter PL_T in 'Sheet Metal Defaults' of 'Sheet Metal Rule - Default_mm, Thickness has the standard numerical value of 0.500 mm and Bend Radius has the parameter Thickness. Trying to solve this with iLogic, creating a rule ('set values') with Thickness = PL_T and BendRadius = PL_T and let the rule run when opening a new document. The funny thing now is that the rule did run, I look up the parameter list a find Thickness has the value PL_T, Driving Rule is the rule 'set values' and the same goes for the Bend Radius but in 'Sheet Metal Defaults' of 'Sheet Metal Rule - Default_mm I still have Thickness = 0.500 mm and Bend Radius = Thickness. What am I overlooking. Any help, suggestion or solution in this matter using iLogic or VB.net would be much appreciated. A message to Autodesk: My preference language setting in my account is English but I can only post in the Spanish, French or German sections. Could this be corrected please, thank you.

Hi!

You have to save your template with this definition:

diseble the" use thickness from rule" and save your template... will work.

Michael, the attached part is created using your suggested method. All the necessary data is in there except for the iLogic rule which is not needed. When you save this as is or using 'Save As' or 'Save Copy As' no issues. As soon as it is in your templates, the parameters are out of the 'Sheet Metal Defaults'

Hi Carlos, that works but my Bend Radius and other values that I would like to control are not updated with my parameters.

The bend radius depends of the thickness in this case

But we can give it another value in sheet metal rules using another variable (can use in here a iLogic rule: if the thickness as x value, bend radius will have y value... easy)

Question: when you open your template, do youhave an message like this?

Hi Carlos, I do it the same way, but as soon as I make it a template, open that template to create a new part, the parameters are out of the default setting as stated earlier.

Hi Carlos, I overlooked your last question, no I do not get that message, probably because of a setting of a prompted message. I have tried to look for it but unable to find it quickly.

Again... are you sure you disable the "Use Thickness from rule" before the "save copy as template?

When i opened your file, it was set as able... must be disable to work properly...
