Hi
I use a similar method to all the posted questions and suggestions.
The only difference is, I place the Section line on a non printable layer, and also changed it's colour for quick reference.
Also, the insertion points are at the bottom of the arrow leader line, they then snap to the section line, and will move with the section line.
Here is a snippet of my process.
Thought I would add one last thing.
The detail reference symbol does not snap to anything, and has to manually be dropped into place, if the view moves, the symbol does NOT follow. Be careful to check before printing.
This would be a good place for someone to step in with a fix....Hint.
