Opening drawing via API gives unresolved drawing

I have a weird bug I am trying to sort out, on some random drawings (not all)  and they are usually larger ones, when I open the via the API, it shows them as having all unresolved views (big question marks all over the browser tree), I can do the operations i need to do and save the document with no problems though except the mass won't update.

however if i manually open the document, It appears to be fine. I don't know how to fix this. I assume it is a file / link resolving problem that inventor / vault is somehow automatically re-directing to when i manually open it, but it is not happening when i open it via the API.

I do have silent option enabled as i am processing large amounts of drawings. But i can't work out why this is happening or how to fix it,

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Matt.

After some more investigation, when i have one of these drawings open, It seems as though one of the views can be stuck in a raster state as well (not necessarily directly related). When i  check through the document descriptor it also says that the file reference isnt missing or suppressed etc.

I checked that it is not deferred updates, even tried to check then uncheck it to try get it to reload. No updates will work etc.

When i open the model manually, it does popup with a prompt saying it's read only, it then tries to update the bill of materials, and says some components need updating.
