Looking at how to implement my auto-work order creation code

I basically want to have a seat of inventor that is running the VBA I've put together, making order assemblies and exporting .xls files all day to our android workfloor management app - I envision a non-cad person just pressing a button on a front end and which imports a properly formatted spreadsheet - and that's it - the order goes out to my factory floor, drawings are printed to .png and issued, everything is saved and closed and inventor waits for the next order. It doesn't even need to be visible.

I'll be using my seat for design and changes. I envision a box running inventor in our server cabinet with a remote login from the admin computer here... honestly it could be on a virtual machine running in the cloud. I don't think this is happening yet.

This is as good a place as any to ask - do I need to buy a separate license of inventor to run on this machine just for creating these orders? I believe so, and that is no big deal! Questions and comments welcome.

Hi @Anonymous,

Yes, separate license is required to run your auto-work order. Otherwise, 30 days trail version can be downloaded using following link.

Thanks and regards,

You could also take a look and see if apprentice can manage to do any of the tasks if you find you don't want to buy another license.

You get ApprenticeServer accessibility with even just an install of Inventor Viewer, but it doesn't have nearly the functionality of a full version of inventor.

Maybe you can establish a process that uses both where they are needed.
