Inserting a balloon that has a field for prompted text

I would like to make a split balloon where the top retrieves the item number and the bottom is a prompted text area.  Is this possible?

If the above is not possible my fallback plan would like to make a sketched symbol function in exactly the same way. I believe this option would be significantly more code.  If I have to go this route, is there a way to directly mimick getting the item number like the balloon function does?

--My current process involves attacghing a user symbol, getting the proper leader node, attached entity, geometry, model geometry, containing occurrence, and then BOM of the component occurrence.  Keep in mind this doesn't work for phantom or reference components.  There must be a better way.

This is to comply with GM standards. Surely someone else has run into this issue...I'm actually surprised Autodesk doesn't support split balloons that allow half iProperty, half prompted entry already.

If on the drawing will be two occurence of the same part will baloon be the same?

If yes you can make baloon that will display custom iProperty. I'm sure there is away to make it prompt 🙂

or ever fill the property earlier in the BOM

I found the iProperty option, but that the only way for all balloons to have their own number would be to require a new iProperty for each balloon.  The new iProperty would reside inside the detail.  In our case that would mean having to checkout, modify, and check back in after our check process.  That just won't work.

This has been an issue that hasn't been addressed since 2004.  See these posts for reference:

This is by designed within the product and not possible at this time. If you would like to enter a wish list item asking for this to be considered as an enhancement for a future release please use the following link.

Used sketched symbols to create any custom prompted entry balloon you desire.

Create a new sketched symbol by right clicking "sketched symbols" and selecting "define new symbol" and sketch your desired shape of a balloon with a prompted entry text within. After saving and naming this new sketched symbol, find the this new sketch symbol in the tree under "sketched symbols",  insert in your drawing and snap to a line within your drawing view you wish to attach your balloon to. You will then be prompted for the custom text you wish to enter. After entering the text click on the center of the balloon and drag, the balloon will automatically have a leader attached. To edit the field text of the balloon you have inserted, right click after selecting the balloon and select "edit field text". for every new sketched symbol balloon you add to your drawing it will have unique prompted entry text.
