Copy design: Template for copy

Hello,

Is it possible either via an existing plugin or via vault to save copy design's copy/reuse settings?

Basically, we have certain IAM's we copy over multiple times with the copy design. about 60% of the contained IPT's need to be reused, the remaining 40% need to be copied. currently we select them manually each time, and it could happen that some of them are forgotten. What i would like is to have a List, in wich names of files are defined. If I load the copy design window, and it contains any of those files, then those files are automatically set to reuse by default.

Is there a tool that does something like this?

Think that this is not possible at the moment. 

Maybe in future, rules can do something with this!

I think it should be possible with our Copy Design Tool. It need some changes to handle it.

Do you have a static list with the reused files?

Hello, thanks for the answer... Ideally it would be a strict list of filenames in a txt file, that ia placed centrally on the lan so every pc can access it.. The alternatove would be a list of folders in vault, and all files that are inside those folders are set to reuse... Will have a look at your link in the office tomorrow..

Just to clarify, I am talking about the Copy design that is inside VAULT, not inside inventor...

Hello,

I have created a application that can copy templates, but it does require the assembly templates to conform to certain rules. once the templates are set up we can copy them with all the standard components and library items being re-used and all the custom parts which may need to be manipulated get assigned new part numbers. Also the drawings get copied with the template too. the tool also has a number generator which also works to specific rules.

If you need some help please get back to me, i could show you some samples of how this works.
