Constraint preview does not work

I have an assembly where:when I apply a constraint the component does not move to the designated space. I have to exit the constraint command and move the component and then it moves where it should. Anyone has any idea why. No adaptive parts no sick constraints in the assembly.

It sounds like the constraints are fighting each other. If the constraint preview isn’t updating it could be likely that the constraint will bring back an error message. And while you can likely still proceed, unexpected results will follow.

I have seen this happen with an add in like tube and pipe. You would have to pull the part to get it to move. For the most part the idea was just to position the part and remove the constraint again.

We would need to see screen shots of the parts or indeed the whole assembly to diagnose that further.

Go to Application Option -> Assembly -> Uncheck "Defer Update"
