Hi  In Ansys during non linear analsyis, there is a very nice feature : when we have lack of convergence, we can plot Newton Raphson residuals, on where the solver is having problems. Hi,   I would like to suggest the implementation of a filter on the parameters that can be used to check the parameters that had been changed from the default state.      For example I'm running parallel simulations that should be using the same parameters, I would like to check what I did in the first simulation in order to replicate on the new simulation.    I hope this makes sense.   Esteban   Show More

Being able to add an enforced motion load (acceleration, velocity, etc...) directly to a Nonlinear Transient Response analysis would mean that alternative secondary methods, such as the Large Mass Method for simulating an enforced acceleration, would not need to be implemented. This would make setting up analyses simpler and quicker, as well as removing the need to use approximation methods to get results.   It appears that other versions of NASTRAN have the ability to apply enforced motion loads in a nonlinear transient response, so it would be great for Inventor NASTRAN to have this ability too. There is currently no way to set "Edge to edge" contact in Inventor Nastran. That means it is impossible to work with "Shell" elements and contacts at the same time. It would be a good addition to be able to do that.       Show More

Hi!  It is very convenient if Nastran has the function converting the deformed Nastran results to a CAD model, which would be possibly better to have an easy way to click one button in the dialog and export a CAD model.  There is no other way or workaround, at present, to do the above. When we go in Results - Options, contour options, and specify the min/max, we know that the contours will change in the model. There is a wait time after checking the option that should not be there. Let us click the option, change the values and then, after pressing OK do the processing.  Show More

We’d like a tool to determine what is wrong when meshing fails. Solidworks has a tool that can display elements that have failed to mesh, which is a useful feature because it makes it easy to identify where the mesh size needs to be adjusted. Dear John and All, if you could help me,   I´m trying to apply automatic local refinement to my model, and I have a question. I start with default mesh size (55 mm for my model) and the maximum stress (von Misses) that I obtain is about 84 MPa. But if I start with a smaller mesh of 30 mm (for general mesh is the result that I obtained by manual mesh convergence), and that apparently it seems a tighter and "nicer" mesh, then the stress value I get is higher (more than 100 MPa). What is the correct option? May I always start with the default mesh or I have to use other size mesh to start?   I´m using 10 interations and 5% as stop criteria . Thank you! Each time we start a simulation, Inventor freezes for a time and the windows becomes unresponsive, no buttons work, no progress windows appear. It would be logical that we can at least minimise the window so we can continue to work on something else.  Please improve this software.  Show More

It would be interesting to have a way to show all contacts used in a model, as done with the "Contact visualization plot" on SolidWorks calculation module. This tool permits to show the contact surfaces between components, using different colors for each contact type. Moreover, this tool can show the contacts while taking into account the mesh.   In general, this would be very interesting when dealing with lot of contacts, to verify and debug the model. Show More

Hi, I would like to see a global simplification and streamlining in Nastran. At the moment, it's too tricky, so twisted,  too counter intuitive, too slow, too many settings, so many errors, so many parameters, so user unfriendly, so much time in analysis, a so old user experience. It's a good idea if it's possible to export the force in a bolt connector. Hi Team,   Inventor Material library to be updated as per international standards. When we do FEA we need to make custom material and look for mechanical parameters. It takes extra time and cost.
