...absolutely agree - Nastran is supposed to be a superior solver in comparison with Abaqus. Please, embed structured (Hexahedral) meshing technique within this solver...it's about time...
The best thing is to get Femap and use it with Autodesk Nastran. Femap now has a great hex dominant mesher and its nearly bullet proof. You don't need any of the NX solvers so it's much cheaper and it will mesh across multiple solids if you want that which Inventor Nastran will not do. It takes longer but it's worth it in the quality of the mesh. Private message me if you want more information.
