Assembly with multiple Composite Laminates

Hi,

I have an assembly with multiple composite parts. Each part has its own laminate sequence. When viewing the results, how can I check ply status within each part separately? Part 1 has 11 plies, part 2 and 3 have 14 plies, part 4 and 5 have 15 plies. When viewing results, I can see status for 15 plies, but I can't see which part the ply belongs to.

Thanks.

Hi @salil.phatakFKEGW

If they are separate parts and created as surfaces in the Inventor model, then you should be able hide the parts in the Nastran results. "Results > Options > Part View" tab and select the part you want to display.

Also, viewing the results of ply 15 will show a result of 0 for parts that do not have ply 15. Therefore, you do not really need to hide the parts in order to know which parts have ply 15.

Thanks John. I was only looking at ply status for a non-existent ply which showed "not failed" and didn't see that the stresses were 0.

I'm currently using 2022 and will update to 2023 soon.

Thanks.
