So this is the root of many functions that could be improved. So you could do the following directly
- finding a sketch in the graphics window- So being able to preselect by moussing over the sketches and the whole sketch would highlight. currently you have to select a sketch entity then right click then find in browser then it maybe not the one you want because there are lines under that line from other sketches then you go select other then it says curve, curve, curve not useful as per https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-ideas/select-other-more-info-needed/idi-p/8033800
- visibility
- delete
- copy
- redefine
- properties
- show input
- export
- edit sketch- which most of the time seems to say new sketch. Again you could pick the wrong line then if you forget to undo and exit the sketch can take along time to exit even though nothing has changed
This functionality would also greatly improve the following functions
- make part - so if you could select all the sketches you needed from the graphics window this would be a massive improvement as the issue of select from the browser is there is no way to tell which one is which on a larger browser and at he end of the day CAD is a visual medium so this would be much easier.
- Edit derive part adding entity's- Again this would be much easier means you could quickly and easily select the sketches you wanted from the graphics window.
