Welded assemblies

Welded assemblies

A couple more ideas to improve welded assemblies :

Visibility toggle ON/OFF per individual beads, the way it is right now, you can either, show all of them, or show none at all.

If you want to show only a few welds, you need to create a model state.. this is totaly overkill and adds a layer of complexity no one wants to deal with

When promoting demoting components in an assembly, welds and their associated symbols should be able to get promoted/demoted as well instead of rebuilding the entire thing from scratch.

Another good one would be to highlight Faces 1 and 2 with a different color when modifying a bead

I'd like to link the name of the weld feature in the model browser to the notes in the tail of both the 2D and 3D weld symbols.  That way I can redline a print and know which weld feature I need to modify in the model.  The link should also extend to the weld report to help our production folks estimate costs.

The weld report should be a live table in the drawing, rather than importing an excel file.

The lack of individual bead visibility is particularly annoying if you are using View Representations to hide some parts in drawing views.  You can hide the parts themselves, but not the welds associated with them.  I haven't tried the Model State solution for this, but it seems overcomplicated for the reason I would be doing this.  It isn't typically to show "variations" so much as to show phases of construction, so creating multple BOM's (as Model States do) is not desirable.
