Setting Marked Lines as a different layer when placing part into a drawing

When creating a 2D drawing of a parts using inventor, can marked lines come into the drawing as a different layer so they can be set as a different colour, This feature is there when you export a part but not when you are making a drawing of that part.

Left is how it currently works, right is how I'm suggesting it work.

Hello, I would like to be able to assign a drawing layer style to the model mark feature. In my workflow the flat pattern is put on the drawing and the drawing is exported as dxf and sent to suppliers. I found the possibility to export the flat pattern from the model with a certain layer assigned to the mark feature. I did not find this possibility for drawings though. Anyone who could help me with this? Would be greatly appreciated!

Not only with flat patterns but on all parts where the Surface Mark tool is used, for example surface numbering.

This should be a dedicated Layer. So when a 2D drawing is exported to Autocad dwg/dxf, it has a seperate layer.

The cutting machine needs to know that it has to mark the surface and not cut through.

was beim Markieren nicht funktioniert ist die farbliche Darstellung von Markierungen in Zeichnungen (.idw) was zur Folge hat, dass man eine „markierte“ Linie nicht von einer Bauteilkante unterscheiden kann!

Beim Export in eine dxf funktioniert das. Markierte Linien werden in der voreingestellten Farbe dargestellt.

Warum werden diese nicht auch in der idw in der Farbe dargestellt die für diesen Layer eingestellt ist?

Für mich ist das wichtig, da bei uns beim Laserschneiden von Blechen Gravuren in gelb dargestellt werden.

Die Gravuren kann ich zwar im Bauteil erstellen und als dxf mit Markierten Linien in gelb exportieren,

wenn ich aber eine Zeichnung erstelle erscheinen die Markierten Linien als schwarze Standartlinie.

Bei anderen Linien wie Biegelinien oder verdeckten Linien kann ich auch vorher über den Layer festlegen welche Farbe die Linie haben soll, warum also nicht auch bei markierten Linien?

I would like to have the ability in drawings (idw) to set another color (or layer) for the curves created by Mark feature. Currently, it is not possible to distinguish the Mark lines from standard curves.
When exporting to a dxf, this works. Marked lines are displayed in the preset color. I would like this to be also controllable for Inventor drawings.
This is important for me because when we laser-cut sheet metal, the engravings should be displayed in yellow.
I can create the engravings in the part and export them as dxf with marked lines in yellow, but when I create a drawing (idw), the marked lines appear as a standard black line. With other lines like bend lines or hidden lines I can also define beforehand via the layer which color the line should have, so why not also with marked lines?

Since engravings are normally manufactured with other machine settings (or another machine at all), it makes sense to make them on another layer, so the user can change the line color.

It is very common among mechanical designers that the engravings are displayed in different color on the drawings (typically in yellow).

Hello,
i think a layer manager would be grate. In the layer manager should be all parts listed. For each part there should be an option to choose a line color and also a color for the hatching.

This will be very useful for us.

Please AutoDesk, listen to the ones that use Inventor DWG to make detail drawings. Please make Inventor DWG work with AutoCAD Layers when it comes to parts & line color. This is a great idea.

We have been using the new mark feature and love it for what we do, but we would dearly love if the lines that are the result of the mark feature have a way of being applied to a different layer in an IDW.

How i understand it currently works is that the mark feature is similar to a split in that it effectively creates a line or series of lines on the surface that is currently classed as body edges. These edges come in to an IDW on the (Standard) Visible layer. We then Manually change the Mark Lines to another layer with a different colour and Line Type to distinguish them on a drawing as requireing a different process or use during fabrication of the part.

the change we would like to suggest;

Give lines created in an IDW from a mark feature their own layer in the IDW

this would mean we skip the manual step of changing them to a different layer and allow us to set out template to have these layer settings for all mark features.
