quickly select assemblies nested inside patterns

A method of quickly selecting assemblies that are nested inside of patterns:

Currently, the "component priority" filter gives first priority to patterns (ie, click on an assembly within a pattern and the pattern is selected instead of the assembly).  I have found that I click or double click on assemblies wishing to edit or open them more often than I wish to modify pattern parameters.

I propose adding an additional filter which can separate the selection of assemblies from patterns.  For example: could add the selection filter "assembly feature priority" which would give priority to items such as assembly patterns, sketches or assembly modeled features.  Then change the "component priority" to select assemblies over patterns.

Hi @imajar. I agree the current pattern selection functionality is very annoying. I hate that we can't select assemblies within a pattern from the graphics area, and instead have to expand node after node to get to them in the browser tree. Vote given.

Please consider also voting for this alternate solution to the problem, which would allow very quickly "trickling" through pattern/sub-assembly levels to get at precisely the component you want: Keyboard+Scroll to "probe" through Assembly/Pattern levels. Thanks!

I like the idea of shift or cntrl scrolling way more than my own idea.  Wish I could transfer any votes from my idea to yours!

Thank you, glad you like it! I really wish that idea would catch on more. I think if more users could see it and if I could better communicate how handy it would be, the vote count would soar. But it's been hard to give it traction. So thanks for your vote, every one counts!
