I use Inventor to create drawings for music stages. These drawings are used by our customers, engineers and crews. The assemblies are in real life, physically very large. I use multiple Model States to control various views within the drawings. Right now there are two Edit Scope choices: Factory and Member.
I do as much modeling using Factory Scope as I can before I start creating additional Model States. Once I have multiple model states editing my model becomes increasingly labour intensive. Most of the changes I make are in multiple Model States, but not all Model States. I make my changes in Factory Scope, but then I need to go back into the Model states that I don't want those changes and remove them.
Having the ability to edit more than one Model States at a time would be very helpful.
