Fix this, having it checked causes issues with the way we assign material so we have to uncheck this box for every part. It would be beneficial to make this an option/setting to set the default to not checked.
This is not "Solved". We derive nearly everything in our workflow, and having a setting "Hard coded" is just asinine. We literally loose massive $ on jobs because of this setting. We model up projects, change thickness to something, then when it gets to layout, they pull up the models and it's changed from 3/16 plate to 1/4" plt. They proceed to make it out of 1/4" plate because that's now what the model has. When you literally go through a million+ pounds of steel annually building product, you can see how a 25% increase in steel cost would affect the bottom line. What can be worse, is when you want thicker structural parts for integrity, and inventor changes it back to something thinner because of a missed setting, it could literally cost lives. Autodesk needs to get back to the days where the end user has more control of settings and customization. This is frustrating beyond belief.
This idea has been implemented within Autodesk Inventor 2021.1. Deselecting a setting will result in the setting remaining deselected until you select it again. Special thanks to everyone who cast a vote for it.
