for sketches & anything related to the ability of a sketchto be used in various other things like arrays, skeletons etc   eg- see simple sketch that i am about to constrain a couple of lines to the origin.     below is a capture of this... I work in large assemblies with many layers of subassembly.  I sometimes need to turn off the visability of components to better view areas of interest.  This works great with individual parts, but with subassemblies there is the hassele of breaking veiw associativity and then when visibility is restored, the component defaults to the 'Master' veiw representation.  So I have to manually adjust the Representation of every subassembly as it is made visable, which is extra tedious when there are multiple respresentations.  Wouldn't it be better to supress associativity while an entire component is turned off and return it to it's previous state when it is turned back on.   Thanks, Ira Show More

Hi! I am completely new to coding and devloping with any autodesk products. This seems like a light project but I am really not sure since I have little experience in this field. I am also a teenager so I dont have years of experience in this. I do know how to use CAD very well and have coded for many years. I am also unsure if I posted on the correct board. Is it possible to use code a program that will capture the left, front, right, and back images all in real time and store them in a variable or something. The point of this is to display them in a different area. The whole project idea is more complex but this is a start to it and I was wondering if any can help me get started. What language should I use? Are there any tutorials I can follow for doing something like this? Is there anything similair to this? Thank You! Show More

i suspect that this is something that has gone unnoticed. i certainly have not seen it before now.. not a big deal, more annoying than anything and just a note for the devs to look at some point in the future,   this drawing was migrated up from 2015 and switched over to use a new dim style / standard. any new dimensions added to he drawing work just fine when using rmb > arrange dimensions. however, if there is a dimension that was pre-existing that is part of the selected group of dimensions being "arranged" then inventor sees this and makes note to the user that there is a different standard dim offset being used, and that it will use the currect standard to continue the arrangement...   that is fine & nice to know, but immediately after choosing ok, the dimensions are all snapped into position, bundled up on top of one another and the command is terminated. there is no opportunity to actually 'arrange' anything.   i think the fact that this circumstance would be encountered so infrequently, it would be easy to overlook that the sequence is not completed as you would expect it to.   i attempted to resolve this by consolidating dims to the new style and saw:   if you highlight any or all dimensions and tell inventor to make them the current standard, it makes no difference if you want to arrrange them in this manner. refresh / update styles etc = no change. if you add some new dimensions and copy thier properties to the pre existing dims it makes no difference. if you choose just one of any of the pre existing or new dimensions, all behaves as you would expect when doing thie arrange, but there is not much point when you only have one dimension being manipulated, however when in this mode you can see that the default offsets being used between the various old or new dimension have been maintained in thier original settings.     the only outcome i can see is to add new dims and delete old ones, if you wanted to use the arrange command.   seen this on pdsu - inv 2016 update2, 64bit windows 8.1   all the best keep up the good work. Similar to a regular IPT can be converted to a sheet metal IPT, it would be nice if a regular IAM can be converted to a weldment IAM. I don't see this can be done in my Inventor 2014 version and don't know if this request function has been implemented in the latest release. Show More

Anyone using vault has come accross the message about files being missing from your working folder and then you are asked if you would like to get the latest file from the vault. I almost always click yes.   Usually Inventor finds the Vault files just fine, however I often come across some that cannot be found. This is usually because a file has been renamed.   As vault logs the files that have been remaned I don't see why it can't find the file. There is a record of the original file name in the version history so determining the correct file should not be complex. Show More

In Inventor 2016 the ballon haven't the snap like in other versions. Since his first version, Inventor ballon have a snap ever 15°, orizontal and vertical too. This isn't in 2016! Please reenter this feature. Show More

We use AR-CONC section line type for ceramic parts.  We just upgraded to 2016.  I changed two parts to AR-CONC and printed a PDF from Adobe and the AR-CONC does not show up.  All other section lines do.   Regards, Mark   Show More
