Easy/fast way to place virtual sharp/theoretical intersection in drawing views

Please come up with a way to place virtual sharps in a view without the dimension tool active. We use ordinate almost exclusively as it's what the folks in the toolroom request and I find it very frustrating to try and dimension to a virtual sharp. SolidWorks has a function where you can preselect the two lines and then click the point tool and it places the witness marks at the virtual sharp or intersection point. You can then use the center of those marks in whichever dimension style you want to use. It is far, far easier than any of the options in Inventor and it takes far less mouse clicks.

Great suggestion. For those who aren't familiar, here's a video demonstrating the feature in SolidWorks:

Another ex-Solidworks user here and it's certainly one of the features I miss and one that seems very clumsy to do in Inventor compared to Solidworks.  As yet I've found no way to control the size/type of the sharp Inventor produces and IMO the setting is way to big on smaller rad's and the lack of control of how it displays is my biggest gripe about this more than it's function.

For those that know not how, Select your first line, hover over your other line of your intersection and RMB and select 'Intersection', this is the odd bit, you then have to hover over your second choice line and a small yellow dot, sometimes you need to move around a bit until appears, then left click again then carry on as normal.

Still, so far a small price to pay for the extra stability but I agree and I'll give that my vote.

This is a great suggestion as it would replace the current method for linear dimensions, which involves a cumbersome series of left and right mouse clicks in order to find the intersection.  Furthermore, it would support ordinate dimensions, which currently have no method for detecting intersections.  My practice is to create a sketch on top of the view and draw in each sharp.  What a pain!

Quite a few ideas on the forum taking a stab at this same thing.  I suggest this be merged with:
