Save a Model from Within iLogic Rule Editor

Save a Model from Within iLogic Rule Editor

All,

Good afternoon!  I am working on some coding that is a bit complex (for me anyway) and I find myself Clicking on the "Save" button, closing the iLogic Rule Editor and then saving the file.  I LOVE the ability to save a rule within the editor without having to run the rule and thought it would be cool to add a button for Saving the Rule and Model at the same time, yet stay within the Rule Editor.  Please let me know if you have any questions or comments and I'd be happy to respond.  Hope this makes sense, thanks for reading and have a most blessed day!

Peace,

Pete

Great idea. That way we can actually save/write the iLogic changes to the Part file without having to close the iLogic editor.

One question though. There's been some buzz about making certain dialog boxes, such as Parameters, BOM, and iLogic editor, non-modal so that they can stay open but we can still work on the Part/Assembly behind them. This would enable us to save the Part using the normal methods (Save button, Ctrl+S) even while the iLogic window is open.

If that were the case, would you be happy with being able to save the model by clicking its normal Save button or clicking in its window and hitting Ctrl+S? Or would you still want this button in the iLogic window?

I use Ctrl+S all the time, so that would probably work great for me if the software could differentiate between saving the rule and the file.  I like the idea of being able to work outside of the iLogic Editor, say for example, editing the Parameter table and then watching it step through your code would be a nice debugging feature.

If that cannot be done, I would probably still like the button, so that everything is in the same general area and you wouldn't have to click on the Save Rule button then fly up to the ribbon all the time.  Thanks for the response and have a most blessed day!
