Display Line Numbers in iLogic code

Just as the title says and is asked in this thread: make an option in the iLoigic rule editor to show line numbers. When there is a fault in the code, line numbers are mentioned, but with a large code it is not easy to count to a line very down.

Would be great to have the line numbers listed on the left hand side of the code to help find errors when it says "Error Line 35"

I'd like to see line numbers incorporated into the iLogic Log and error messages as well, see details here

I already created this idea a few months ago: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-ideas/display-line-numbers-in-ilogic-code/idc-p/9009095#M362....

Please vote there too.

Has this been improved in the editor since this request has been posted?

When I get an error, it usually scrolls to the line automatically.

Optionally, click an error message in the Errors pane and the editor takes you to the line in the code. No scrolling or line counting required.

Jerry

Can this be retroactively applied to previous inventor versions? 2020,2021,2019,2018 etc?

Moving to 2022 isn’t really an option for some users given that there is improvements required around model states etc and many bugs still being uncovered.

Hello @A.Acheson,  We took a look at the technical feasibility of your ask (as it was a very good suggestion) and do not feel it can be backported. Among other blockers, it was discovered that doing so might introduce a scenario where line numbers might be different depending upon what release version you were examining the rule in. As such, I am sorry to state that it will not be possible.
