Original Title: Custom section marks

In order to follow my company's standards, I need to draw my own section mark lines. (See attached picture.)

In AutoCAD, we had a LISP routine to automate it - there were three clicks to input points. First click gave us the starting point, the end of the line with the circle. The 2nd click gave us the other end of the line. The 3rd click decided the direction the arrow pointed. After that, it prompted us for the section label ("A") and the sheet number ("S1").

I've figured out how to make the circles with numbers with prompted entries, but don't know how to draw the line and arrows without them being a fixed predetermined length and direction in a sketched symbol.

This would need to input similar to a leader line with multiple input points, which from what I can tell, sketched symbols are a single input point.

I really don't need for it to pull in the sheet number or section label automatically - I'm fine with manually inputting them with a prompt.

Please revote this back up - I think this is very worth the development and it saves lots of time and hassle. We use this note constantly and to be able to customize it will open many new possibilities in order to communicate with customers and our fabrication shop.

It's now 2021, the first request on this was posted in 2013.  Is there any update on this?  This seems to have lots of interest in it for years, when can we expect to have this feature implemented?

This would be Extremely Handy.  The majority of our clients are architects and it would be great to standardize our terminators.  We'd be happy with a standard architectural terminator to start!  I use Revit as well and it's available there.  Why not on Inventor?

Probably scared that someone will try and do large architectural projects with it instead of revit etc and do a flail-fail.

Generally the intent is for structural / mechanical projects where the mech plant equipment is in an offshore/onshore structure.

The bias would be more towards meeting minimum structural / plant drafting Standards than architectural, as revit already does that. 

Equipment usually needs to reference the process building / structure it’s in and the layouts often adhere to a structural standard for the grids etc like AS1100.501 or an Euro/USA equivalent.

Like piping people will often model primary steel as a prelim thing to start layout equipment and get piping underway called a “pipers steel model” same goes for mechanical equipment in structures. It’s not final details but something to reference appropriately for the mech. Items.  

Don’t get your hopes up that anything will happen. the actual chances are less than 0.1%

There’s always the chance someone gets fired and some smarter people take over with a clue but it’s unlikely.

The age of the request and the lack of positive action should be a good indicator of potential outcome.

9 years later and they still haven't given an option to solve this? Why can't something simple like the custom balloon for part marks be used in this case?

It is essential for multisheet drawings to have child sheet references in the call outs. I can not understand why it is taking so long to implement it
