Bend table for tube and pipe drawings

Bend table for tube and pipe drawings

Hi,

I think when you create drawings for tubes and pipes it would useful to include the "Bend machine output" data that can be taken from an inventor tube and pipe model. This data is either the XYZ points of the tube/pipe or the LRA data.

This data could be added to the tube/pipe drawing in the form of a table in the same way bend tables are added to sheet metal drawings. This way updates to the tube/pipe would automatically update the drawing.

Currently if you want this data in the drawing you export it from the tube/pipe assembly to another file. Then copy paste it into a general table in the drawing. So any revision to the tube/pipe won't update the table in the drawing, then you have to export+copy+paste the updated data into the drawing.

Command to generate table in drawing.

Today it is necessary to use the command bending machine output, open it as a notepad, copy information and paste into excel, annotate, table general, find the table and link. If there is a design change, the process must be repeated.

I would like the same sheet bending table function to exist.

I also vote for this feature. We have a very complicated macro to create a table, but it is so complex that it is usually easier to start a new part instead of modifying an existing one. That's very frustrating in the concept development phase.

I also request that Tube & Pipe change the Styles setup to be more like Sheet Metal Rules, where different settings can be pre-set for different combinations of pipe stock, tooling and bending process.

Currently, Inventor can output a text file of XYZ or LRA data including the straight pipe length, but all the values are incorrect as Inventor uses bend calculations which do not match the allowances used in our bending processes.
