Add Balloons - Need ability to multiple select items

When adding to an existing ballon, we have the command to "Attach Ballon", which is good when you want to add ONE additional item to the ballon.  It would be great if we could select multiple items, rather than one-at-a-time. Shift+select or a crossing window.... doesnt matter, just need a way to select more than one item.  Seems like this would be an easy thing to add and would be a great feature.

Simple and effective

Makes sense to me.  The most common place we use attached balloons at my company is with a stack of hardware, similar to what you show in your example.  In those cases there is usually a bolt, nut, and at least one washer, so three items (or more) to balloon.  Thus, it's more common for me to need to attach multiples than to need to attach a single balloon.

Exactly.... click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click,click

Even if all they did was allow the "repeat last command" from the Enter key to work work for balloon attachments, that would be a significant improvement over the way it works now.  As is, if you balloon something, then attach a balloon, then try to repeat the last command, it skips back to the Balloon command instead of repeating the Attach.

I fully agree we need this feature.
Though when I my self need to do this I usually just use the feature, attach from list, instead.
This allows me to attach as many as I want in one go.

Mikkel,

Thanks for the vote.  I do that too (Attach balloon from list), but its not always obvious where the part I want to balloon is in the parts list. Even if I know what the part is, I may have to scrooll thru the list just to get to the proper one. Its just slower that way then multiple selecting from the drawing view.

Oh I agree! It was just a "getaround" in the meantime we're waiting for Autodesk to implement it 😉

I like it.

I'd also like a good way to get my balloons in numerical order, not in pick order.

My Parts Lists are sorted by Part Number.  Hardware is something like nut, 1/4-20, steel and washers are something like Washer, 1/4-20 narrow.

The nut might have item number 12 and the washer might be item number 47.  I'd like the balloon string to read 12-47 even if I pick the washer first.

@Yijiang.Cai

Good man! Thanks so much for getting this accepted. 🙂

Any chance you could get this actioned also?:

Filter "Ballooned Items Only" in Parts Lists by Balloons on Sheet, not by IDW - Autodesk Community

Show Ballooned items on current sheet for BOM - Autodesk Community

Parts List/Bill of Materials for Sheet rather than Assembly - Autodesk Community

Total votes between the three of them (same issue/different forum threads) is 103.

Cheers

Daniel
