Just setup Inventor trial pro2016 and the zoom is far too fierce, a 2inch sphere goes from 80mm dia on my monitor (1920x1200) to 300mm (not even fully visible now) in just two clicks of scrollwheel in a non ortho view. Compare this to another prog I use, Rhino3D v5 which takes 6 clicks to do the same on the same sphere starting at the same size on screen, in Rhino I have careful control as I work scrolling in and out all the time whilst placing the next line or spline point. drawing away and zooming and panning all in 1inch movement of mouse. I do have to set it to parallel as opposed to perspective to have infinite zoom ability.
In Photoshop again same finesse, 6 clicks goes from 80mm dia to 140mm dia. Rhino 3 clicks 150mm.
I googled this and only saw mention of alter registry for the mouse, that would then totally mess up the perfectly ok function of this mouse in all progs I use it in, from scrolling up down pages in word, and the internet to the usage of photoshop and rhino. Inventor should use same amount as other progs.
help !!!
then crazily the pan is the opposite, far too slow, like wading through molasses. I run out of mouse mat wrist movement ! Select the pan tool and its hardly moving the item, then change direction and it flips it initially before calming down.
30mm of mouse move left to rotate a 2inch cube (125mm tall on monitor) through 90 degrees in Inventor
Rhino just 2mm !!!!!
and 1mm v 15mm for face opposite face to corner opposite corner 45degs.
I did in fact have for most of the tests, 0.5mm or less, the 1mm is the most I measured.
How does one alter the pan speed ? and I dont intend messing up my use of my mouse in these other progs, which work just the same on a winxp and a win7 pc.
I am also seeing reversed perspective in that the front half is smaller than the back half
Worried !
Cheers.
Steve
