Turning surface into a solid object

Hi there

I'm trying to model a mushroom I'll be creating for an installation but I need to create a solid from the surface of the cap I have made so I can subtract from it and work out the shape of the formers to get CNC'd. I've tried using surface sculpt but it says the surface isn't watertight, can anyone help me out?

Why don't you model directly in Inventor?

That is not a smooth surface.

In Inventor you can obtain it better, faster and as an easy solid.

Anyway..

Your surface has a tiny hole on it, just patch it and your sculpt will be fine.

I've never used inventor, only just realised I'm in the inventor forum

Thanks for showing me the hole and providing such a detailed video. I know this is probably the wrong forum to ask on but can you recommend anyway of smoothing the cap in autoCAD? Or is it something that is best done in inventor?

You can do it in Autocad too.

Brilliant do you know how I would go about doing it.

I've now successfully patched it and created a solid but if I could make the shape smoother as well that would be great

Thanks again
