Sweep Help

Hi All,

Looking for a little bit help with this. Never had to try this before.

I have a pipe segment I need to get rolled locally. I need to start with a large rad at the front and smaller rad at the back (55" back from the front). I thot a sweep would work but it doesnt generate the small rad but rather just extends the large one to the back.

I have attached the file, 2022 format, so someone can see what I did and offer some insight if it makes sense.

Thanks a bunch!

Can you load a *step version of it. I'm on '21 and it doesn't open newer versions.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I wish I could, but its only geometry at this point. I think I may have over thought this and a revolve and cut might just be all I need to make this work. If I cant get this to work, I will post the revolve so you can see what I am after at least.

Tks!

Do a screen shot. It sounds like you need to loft but I'm ASSuming a lot here.

You can open 2022 files in 2021 if you install Update 3.

But there isn't any solid geometry in the file.

Hi! There are multiple ways to do this (see attached part). The quickest way is to use Loft Surface -> Thicken without recreating a lot of geometry. You can also use Guide Rail Sweep or Ruled Surface -> Thicken. The key is to ensure the thickness be consistent.

Well, I'm waiting to see what the tech support is doing. I figured that it might but right now I'm not allowed to get it.

Thanks

This seems to be a fairly easy way to do it. 🙂

Thanks, and I appreciate all the other inputs as well!
