One of my users stumbled across an odd issue today - I don't remember seeing it before. We're using Inventor 2018. After looking into it, I discovered that I see the same issue on my own computer, and it's apparently just never come up for me before.
He has a drawing with some tabulated dimensions. He is hiding the dimension value and replacing it with text that refers to the column in the table, and the dimension name includes a subscript. This results in an "overline" above the subscripted text. Does anyone know why this happens, and how to make it stop?
The image below shows two instances of this text string. The one on the left is created in dimension text, while the one on the right is created in a piece of normal text. Both use the same text style. Why do we get a goofy line in one?

Hi John,
Do you mind sharing the idw file here? I would like to take a closer look. It looks like a bug to me.
Many thanks!
While starting to prepare a sample to send you, I figured it out. It's a weird side effect of doing this with an architectural (fractional feet) dimension style. It seems to assume that anything stacked is supposed to be a fraction.
A decimal style doesn't do it, but I didn't think to check that when my user was originally asking about it. We mostly do steel fabrication, so our default dimension style is ft-in, and it didn't occur to me until this morning that it could be causing the problem.
