The company I work for currently uses Inventor 2019 and AutoCAD 2019 for all of our drawings.  The users who need to look at the drawings but do not have CAD software uses Inventor View.   I see that since the release of
Inventor 2020 our options of looking at drawings are "Inventor Read-Only Mode" or uploading drawings to the cloud once we upgrade to 2021.  The company does not feel comfortable uploading documents to a cloud and we do not want to have to install full versions of inventor on every person's computer who needs to look at drawings.   Are there other options?  If your company has this issue please tell me how you solved it.

Do your users need access to just autocad DWG files? ipt files? iam files? idw files? Inventor dwg files?

Do you use Vault? (Thought about dwf files?)

What about making PDF files of your drawings the controlled/viewed document?

Why are you opposed to installing Inventor and using RO mode?

For the most part its either accept what Autodesk is pushing on you or go through more trouble/workarounds than trying to fight them is worth..

My users need access to .dwg, .idw, and .iam files. to view.  We are currently using windows explorer as our file manager.  We do not have vault.

The PDF files are a good idea but another step we now have to take in order for people to see drawings.

I am opposed to installing Inventor on to 20+ computers of people who do nothing with drawings, the program will use up space and RAM for a laptop or computer that does not have the requirements to have Inventor on it.  We have many salesmen who use tablets, I can't see putting a full-blown version of inventor on their tablet.

We publish our 2d files to PDF with Vault.  Non-Inventor users use Acrobat to view them.

You can use ilogic to automatically create dwf and pdf files on file save or any other trigger you want.
