Style Template errors after build update.

All,

Wondering if anyone else is having issues in inventor build: 287, release 2022.2.2 and vault build: 27.2.67.0 2022.2.2 update

with their CAD Standards styles giving them errors now.

Before updating to the new builds I had no style errors. With the update I am getting an error on the 'two lights' style. Deleting my workspace folder and doing a reget of the CAD Standards does not fix the issue.

Is there a known issue in these updates that would cause this to error now but not before, and why is the get on the CAD standards not fixing the issue?

Maybe the clash was always there, but before updating your Inventor application options was set to suppress this prompt.

It wasn't, These standards were put into the vault with the files on my workspace. So everything I had set up on my workspace was how the standards were supposed to be set up. I can assure you this issue happened once the update occurred and was not present before.

I had a few styles that were giving me errors commonly after the update:

Object Defaults: Object Defaults (ANSI) - 3DA, Standard: Default Standard (ANSI) - 3DA.

I hadn't experienced this error while migrating from 2021 to 2022, however once I opened up my template files and going to the manage tab, selecting update under style and standards and copying the styles to my template file then saving the file this had fixed the issue so I'm not getting the pop up when opening a new file via the template.

I'm not sure the source of this change but this was a quick fix on my side that helped the alert box disappear so I hope this can help you out.

Hi Kristin,

If I recalled correctly, this issue was reported as INVGEN-52248, which had been fixed on 2022.0.1. But, you are already on 2022.2.2. It should contain the fix already.

Please check the following for me. Go to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2022\Bin\_NewStylesLibrary\ and find Lighting.xml. Edit the file in Notepad. Is the version 3 or 4? Change it to 4. After that, the style conflict warning will go away.

Many thanks!

@johnsonshiue
I posted this in the vault forum as well and someone moved it into inventor which then made it look like I posted twice in the inventor forum. I wasn't sure if it was a vault or inventor issue, so I had posted this in the vault forum as well.

Hello Johnson,

It appears there is still an issue on your end, as mine says 4, yet I am still getting the errors. I never had to change anything, it was already 4.

Johnson, Would it be possible this issue wasn't actually fixed yet? I am not seeing this report in any of the update release notes, unless I am overlooking it.

Hi! I am sorry I am not aware of such issue on 2022.2.2. If possible, please share the template file and the design data (zipped). I can take a look to see where the problem is.

Many thanks!

hi

Its clearly saying the style libraries in your design data is differ from your template styles and standards.

so if u want to save the template styles and standards to your design data click on Save the styles after you open the template.

or else

if you want to what ever the design data styles and std's should be reflected in your template u should update the styles. click on Update

I know what it was telling me. The issue was that we had all our style and standards settings set one way, and then when inventor updated to a new build a lighting style and standard CHANGED. This was not a change we did to our styles and standards, so my assumption is the update changed this. I have since fixed this within the templates.

This post was about finding out why my style/standard we loaded into the vault was now different after the update.

Not about how to update, purge, or save a new style/standard.

Ok.
I think when you updated Inventor to new build the styles and standards may changed, so if you don't want to appear that dialog box u need to save the styles to Vault design data.
So once u save the styles what ever is their in new inventor build it will be same replica of vault design data.

Hi Kristin,

Many thanks for sharing the files and the workflow video! As I replied to you in the email, I cannot seem to reproduce the behavior on 2022.3.1 on my machine. I have also recorded a screencast (not shared). Please review it and see if there is a difference between the workflow I did and yours.

Thanks again!
