Hi,
I am setting up a standard parts library in Autodesk Inventor as a personal project. However I have encountered a couple challenges. I have utilized online resources such as Inventors help section where I noticed that your account has given remarkable assistance to those in need. If you could please help, that would be greatly appreciated.
I have used Inventor's Content Center to create differently sized parts from a standard part. I modelled the part, created a new library in the Content Center, created a category in that library using the Editor and then published the part to that library. Now, I understand that I can place one of these differently sized parts into an assembly when I select the "Place from Content Center" icon. However, is there a way to open one of these differently sized parts as a part file? What I would like to do is assign a part number and description to each differently sized part. I can assign a part number and description to the original file but not to the differently sized parts I have created from the original part.
I am new to Inventor and have just begun to understand the program. I may not have used the correct terms above when I described the problem. Please let me know if you do not understand something and I can better explain. Thank you for your time.
Keith
