Section view of 3D sketch geometry (Survey)

I have a new challenge.

We are designing brackets to hold cables in a vertical line down a 250m deep shaft.

The shaft is not perfect and drifts up to 700mm from vertical.

We have been given a survey of the shaft at 1m intervals.

I have imported the survey lines to inventor, and I've got the lines to show up in the idw, but...

When I take a section view with a section depth of 1m, it still shows the complete survey from top to bottom of shaft.

Regards,

Paul.

Hi! I could be wrong but I don't think Inventor was designed to create section view of this kind of part. First, the geometry already exceeds the valid model range (+-100m in X, Y, and Z directions). In a section view Inventor only cuts surface bodies, solid bodies, and mesh bodies, not wire bodies.

Many thanks!

Thanks for your reply, even though It's not the resolution I hoped for.

Can you suggest how I might be able to achieve what I want to achieve?

Hi! I am not sure if AutoCAD or Revit can do this. But I am sure Inventor cannot do it.

Many thanks!
