Sculpt failed

Hi

 

I have sculpted a nose cone by surface patch. But I don't know why when I edited the 3D sketch to create other features and didn't touch the nose cone part, the solid failed to update when I press the "finish the 3D sketch" cmd. I didn't touch the nose cone sketch and it failed to update.

Your 3D sketch is not conducive to creating a water-tight solid, because of the gaps being too large:

You can try the Stitch tool (used for the analysis above) instead of Sculpt for the nose, and set that maximum tolerance to 2 mm:

Ugly but works.

Looks like an interesting project.

Here is one I did 16 years ago in Inventor - I was going to post the files here but is too large.  If you are interested, I could break it up into smaller attachments.
