Running into error after splitting multiple 3D lines

I can split these 3D lines just fine but it seems that Inventor has projected some of the points slightly underneath the surface, making me unable to perform a thicken/emboss between two 3D lines.

My goal is to create an alternating pattern of solid ribbons with this cylindrical shape which would later be connected to a slightly smaller solid cylindrical shape (made of transparent plastic) to let light through.

Howdy @Anonymous, I see that you are visiting as a new member to the Inventor Forum.
Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

3D sketch is not support thicken/emboss, you have to create surface or 2D sketch to do so.

Would you mind to share more information on what you want would be better for us to hands on.

Hope it helps!
