Is it an old version of Excel that might be incompatible?

Something rings a bell on a Windows Registry Setting for using Excel and Inventor. For the life of me, I can't find it on the forum.

Try using a different Windows log-in account on your machine, just to check it's not a Profile issue. You can try running the Inventor Registry command.

Re-Register Inventor

  1. open a command prompt as administrator
  2. type :"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2018\Bin\Inventor.exe" /install
  3. Wait for about 30 seconds & then retry Inventor

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

Also, if you are using excel office 365, there are often issues with that.

The documentation (I think) says it's incompatible, but if you ensure you have a LOCAL install of the excel 365, it should work.

Hi guys,

we found great solution.

Another user got same Problem:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcartic...

My Installation is same: office 32bit, Inventor 64bit.

So Inventor is looking for ecxel.exe and couldn't find it.

We put link (shortcut?) of excel.exe into Register of start menu.

But you need full rights as user in this register.

Then inventor will find excel.

I hope you'll understand my german english..

Greetings from Germany from Doreen
