I am having an issue with my inventor that occurred after installing the 2017 version. When I go to import a dwg into an ipt 2d or 3d sketch I have no way of selecting layers I want to import. I have tried it with several different drawings. The 2015 version I have used to give me import selections, but since the new download it will not allow me to import selected layers either. How do you fix this issue? It is becoming very problematic since I import large dwg file frequently. See picture below.
I've been to this thread. It is no help:
The file location in the solution (C:\Program Files\Autodesk\DWG TrueView 2017\acctrl.dll ) does not exist.
I installed the most recent Inventor Patches yesterday 10/26/16.

Uninstall and reinstall DWG True View..
Its available for download here..
http://www.autodesk.com/products/dwg/viewers
Restart computer after reinstallation..
That should take care of it..
Note there is also a bug in 2017 where a dialog pops up indicating about a log failure error or something (I forget the exact one now) and you just need to dismiss that dialog and then the import process will work..

I already tried uninstalling the whole suite and installing it again.
Will it work if I uninstall just True View?

Uninstall just DWG true view and then reinstall it from the link I provided..
DWG trueview is the program that allows this functionality to work..
I've had this problem a few times too and simply uninstalling/reinstalling dwg true view fixed it.. (don't forget to restart the computer after reinstallation)

I uninstalled True View 2017 restarted my computer and re-installed True View 2017. Then restarted my computer. It did not work I am still getting a blank screen when trying to import a dwg.
Does it matter that I still have the 2015 ultimate product suite still installed? The 2015 version of True View is installed on my computer.

I uninstalled all versions of true View except and reinstalled 2017 to see if it would work and it did not fix the issue. Autodesk needs to do something about this bug. My coworkers are having the same issue and cannot figure it out either.

I don't think I am able to solve the DWG TrueView problem, but as an alternative you could open your DWG in AutoCAD. Turn on/off layers, select the objects you want to "import" in Inventor. Copy the objects and Past them into your Inventor sketch.

Hi,
DWG TrueView is used by Inventor as a bridge to import DWG files. Presently there is an issue with DWG TrueView that is affecting the importing of DWG files into Inventor. This is a known issue at this time and is being addressed ASAP. Once complete you will need to uninstall the existing 2017 DWG TrueView and download a new version (when available) from our site.

Charlie,
Why can I import DWG files and they cannot? I have Inventor/TrueView 2017 loaded..
Is the "logfile..maximum reached" bug what you are referring to here as the known issue?
If so what is ASAP as the "log file bug" has been know for quite some time now (months).
This doesn't seem to be the same issue about the "Log File" bug..
Just trying to understand so I can help out the next user that comes here with the same problem..
