I have an interesting problem with a Drum that has raised bumps along it, but also a twist along its length (see picture attached) This will be split and cut on 6 or 9 different sheets of metal and then welded together to create the final shape. I have made the part as a loft with the twist and the hollowed it out, but this will never flatten. Any advice is appreciated on how to make this into a working sheet metal part. Thanks in advance.

Hi!
Inventor can't flat that geometry since the faces are twisted, so it is a plastic deformation, not a bending.
You can have a flat pattern if you use sheet metal tools. File attached (1/3 Model)
This will give you a flat to start, then you can do some adjustments, depending on the manufacturing method.

That's what I was worried about. Yeah I will try to make it work with the flat pattern, thank you
