Locking Windows pauses Inventor processing

Is it a setting on my machine? But when I lock my windows laptop Inventor seems to stop it's processing.  Ideally when I leave my laptop and lock the screen (ctrl, alt & delete <lock>) to go make a drink etc,  I want Inventor to continue it's processing, like opening or saving a model.  It appears that this isn't the case.  I'm sure when I lock the screen then nothing happens at all.

Hi Ian,

I don't think there is a setting in an application can dictate such behavior. There are multiple suggestions based on my limited understanding. Here is a the most plausible solution. You will need to edit a Windows registry key to enable a hidden option. Then change the sleep timeout. After that, the background process will run even after the machine is locked.

Many thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I'll give that a try.
