Is there a simple iLogic viewer somewhere out there that would let you view iLogic rules within parts/assemblies without opening them in the context of Inventor?

Sometimes it would be practical to be able to see how you did something the last time without needing to close the current window, or you need to see the iLogic-code from some rule in some document to find a portion of the code to copy/paste into the one you're currently working with without loosing track of what you're currently doing (when the code gets long long I find it mentally exhausting to scroll down from top to find my way back to the line I was working with whenever I need to close the iLogic window to open another code).

So far I've used Notepad for this purpose, and that works allright-ish as long as I know exactly what I'm looking for or where to find it, but I still need to close the current window to open the code I want to look at or copy. Also the colours-on-black color scheme in the iLogic editor is way more pleasant to look at for extended periods of time, and lets you navigate around a little easier, than the black/white in Notepad. Also sometimes it's nice to have a contained little space to fool around with the search/replace functions in without risking to ruin the rest of your code.

Don't think so.

You can open external rules with notepad, but don't think you can dig into a part to find it.

Guess I'll just have to suggest that they make one then...

Just to be clear, are you trying to open external rules or rules that are embedded in a part/assembly file?  If it is the former then, like already said, you can use notepad, but I actually prefer notepad++.  This program is geared more towards coding.  It will change the color of text when it is a recognized function just like iLogic.  It also has a dark mode.

The latter; opening embedded rules. Notepad++ is at least a vast improvement regarding the visual appearence.

Have you tried TextPad?
I used to use it to do LISP for AutoCAD.

Don't know how well it would work for iLogic.

It's worth a try...
