Hi All,
I have used the Inventor Spline Connection over the years to create large shaft splines to be mated by a gear coupling vendor. The one in question here is ISO 4156 - 30 deg, Flat root, Side fit - INT/EXT 90z x 6.00m x 30.0P x 5H/5h.
The vendor has come back and said that the MRimin and MRimax numbers reported do not match ISO standards. I vaguely remember a decade ago a similar issue but never thought much about it as the vendors never seemed to have a problem, but naturally wonder now what else might be wrong with the calculations, ESPECIALLY trusting the capacity and stress results. Attached is the calculation result from the Inventor Analysis, and the corresponding tables showing the discrepancy. Can anyone shed any light on this please?
