Inventor Styles read only after migration

Hi,

Could someone please explain me why I'm not able to copy Style Library Collections from one style library to another with the 2016 Style Library Manager ?

After migrating my 2015 (custom) Style Libraries, I want to add new 2016 styles (lightning, scenes and stuff) to my libraries.

After migration however, I'm not able to do anything with the styles because the migrated library is read only.

I do this every year, with every new IV version, but now it doesn't seem to work anymore.

Maybe someone has any ideas

Thanks

Wap.

Hi Chris,

I tried everything to get the downloaded zip file to open but nothing worked. I modified my existing xml file per your instructions and I was able to migrate and modify my new Inventor 2016 styles library.  Thank you very much for your help

The error seems to occur again in Inventor 2022. After migrating a style library from 2017, it is read-only.

Hi! Indeed, unfortunately we do have a regression here in 2022. It has been reported as INVGEN-52712. In the meantime, the workaround is to edit the style xml using Notepad or a Text Editor.

Many thanks!

Hello Johnson,

Is this an issue migrating style libraries from Inventor 2021 to 2022.  Please refresh my memory.  You say to edit the xml file using notepad.  How to you modify it to make it not read only or to migrate to 2022?  What kind of modification are you making the xml file to make it work?

Hi John,

The regression in 2022 I was talking about was related to new style, not migrated styles. Migration should work. Are you seeing an issue?

Many thanks!

Hi Johnson,

No issue.  I have tried to migrate from 2021 to 2022 yet, but I was curious whether or not that is the regression you were talking about.  If I see an issue when I migrate, I will update this thread.

Thanks!
