Inventor 2020 and Excel issues.

Upgraded to 2020 and now my excel workbooks will not link they show yellow.  In 2019 they work fine. What gives is this a major bug?

Hi! The behavior does not sound right. Are you able to create an iPart? If not, it means somehow Inventor cannot launch Excel.exe (either unaware of it or has trouble doing so). Have you applied all critical Windows updates? What Excel.exe version are you using?

Many thanks!

Yes I can do an iPart.  If I force a shutdown of all Autodesk services and restart Inventor sometimes the link  work.  It seems that inventor looses a connection to the file then reconnects to it.  I am running MS Office 365.  All updates are current.

Hi! This one is puzzling. The fact that you can create an iPart means that Inventor can launch Excel.exe without a problem. You mentioned that the Excel link is marked as yellow in the Parameters dialog. I guess this may be related to Project path or folder path. Is the Excel file located within the project folders? Is the folder path less than 256 characters? Have you tried cleaning up %temp%?

Many thanks!

I have figured out the issue.  Environment variables "UseLibXL" must be deleted on any computer that upgrades to 2020 or it will have issues with excel and tables.
