@Yosssseba

Hello & Welcome to the forum!

Can you share some more information, please?  What version of Inventor are you using, what features are causing the crashes, and what are your current computer and system specs?  Thank you.  🙂

Hi, I'm using Inventor 2020, and it happens that the program becomes slow and heavy, and that it no longer responds to commands when I try to save only after using the "decal" function which is used to imprint a JPEG or PNG image on a sheet of metal. if the image is large, even if the file is a few kb it becomes very slow, I checked the task manager while this was happening last time and it marked Inventor using 100% CPU and 7000mb of memory as in the attached photo.

This happens with the PC at work, it is an HP Z240 Tower Workstation which has an Intel Core i7-7700 CPU 3.60GHz processor, with 24GB of RAM.

Hi! It seems that you have 24GB RAM. That should be adequate. How much graphics RAM do you have? Is this on a physical machine or a virtual machine? What was the operation before the CPU hit 100%?

Many thanks!

Hi,

I´d partly blame the CPU´s single core performance. It surely is the last high end intel CPU that was a four core (in 2017), but it didn´t exactly age well. I´d also need more background on the dataset. Also, I agree, that the mem usage is something you can safely forget about in a pc sporting 24 GB of ram.

How many parts are we talking in this assembly?

EDIT:

listed below is just the difference in Single Core Cinebench R15 tasks. And as not everything is about rendering, the difference is much bigger in any regard and all over the board. I gathered this from Igor´s Lab.

You can also compare INVMARK results for your CPU with a recent system.

That´s the closest I found, the slightly faster K version of your CPU.

And that´s the first place

Even if the GPU in the first up and runner is overkill, setups with a 3050 only score a little less.
