Infer Constraints in sketch on/off has no change

I had turned off infer constraints in sketches and now that I've turned it back on infer constraints is not working.

Since turning infer back on, I have: restarted inventor, restarted computer, updated the software, turned infer off again and on again.  I have even changed the settings in the Constraint Interference Scope dialog box.  The only thing I haven't tried (that I can think of) is to reinstall the software.

Has anyone else experienced this and how did you fix it.

Thanks for your help!

Karen

Hi Karen,

Please check if Constraint Persistence option is on. If it is not on, the inferred constraint will not be created. If possible, please share a video showing the behavior you are seeing.

Many thanks!

Thank you @johnsonshiue!

Persist Constraints was the small detail I was missing.  I had read about them (see copied text from "help") however the text below doesn't match the behavior I was desiring.

  • Infer Constraints. When selected, constraints are inferred to the geometry created with the active command.
  • Persist Constraints. Available only if Infer Constraints is selected. When Persist Constraints is selected, constraints are created automatically after you finish a sketch. If Infer Constraints is selected and Persist Constraint is deselected, constraints are not created automatically after finishing a sketch but the Inference position is correct.
