iLogic to control stair stringer cross-section

Hello all,

I am just getting into iLogic and have created a stairway that is controlled by a form. When I change the height and/or stringerdepth parameter, it nicely extends the stairway, adds steps, and adjusts the spacing accordingly.

Here is what I want to be able to accomplish, but I am not sure where to start:

I want to add a form or some other type of control where I can choose the cross section of the stair stringer from a list. I want this list to contain various standard structural channels like C10x20, C8x11.5 etc. Once my choice is made, the model will automatically update with this new cross section.

If someone could point me in the right direction, it'd be very much appreciated.

Hi adam.jessome,

I think the easiest approach would be to create each profile, extrude it, name the extrusion feature to match the profile, and add them all to the pattern. Then create a multi-value parameter list with the names of all the profiles and add that parameter list to the form. Then have the iLogic suppress all of the extrusions other than the one selected in the list on the form.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis
